I feel so blessed: Lakshmi Manchu [Interview]

Manchu Lakshmi, who celebrates her birthday today, has endeared herself to TV viewers, especially women, through the successful show 'Memu Saitham'.  In this interview, she says that she feels blessed to be doing the altruistic show.  The Manchu lady also says that she felt shy when she was told the title of her next movie.

Excerpts:

"I have become mentally strong by being able to empathize with others.  More than me helping others through the show, I am benefiting from the show.  The celebs are voluntarily donating money for noble causes without me asking them."

"I have invited almost all the celebs with the exception of Prabhas.  Some times, they are reluctant even though all that they are asked to be do is to be themselves.  I am shocked at their feeling inconvenient even though they don't need to perform on the show."

"I haven't invited Prabhas and Rajamouli because they are busy with 'Baahubali'.  Rana, on the other hand, is a good friend of mine.  He doesn't shy away from doing anything."

"I had always wanted to do something of this sort.  But this show came to me without me making an effort.  I wanted to christen it 'Meelo Nenu'.  When everybody proposed 'Memu Saitham', we went for it.  I feel I am blessed to do this show.  Whenever I think of those needy who appear on the show, I feel emotional."

"When the producer came to me with the script saying the title is 'Lakshmi Bomb', I felt shy.  It was to be a working title.  Ever since we announced the title, the response from distributors, exhibitors and industry friends has been great.  I have done a very interesting role in the movie.  Since I have brothers in real life, doing this role was easier.  Elements like family emotions, horror, drama are all there in the script."

"I will produce a film when I am inspired by a script."

"I think I am beautiful because I am working harder day after day.  When I see my old photos, I wonder about how I used to look back then.  I want to lead the rest of my life as an artist.  I have no other plans for myself."

"I often think how I was living without my daughter earlier.  My life is happy with my parents and niece."

"Educated women should enter the film industry.  They should make movies as producers."

"I have accepted to do a romantic entertainer.  I am yet to formally sign on it."

"I want to act with nanna garu.  I should a role that issues a 'sawal' to him.  I am waiting for such a story."
