Complete Actor Mohanlal and creative actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran created a sensation with "Lucifer." The film turned out to be a blockbuster, and it was dubbed and even remade in various languages, all of which turned out to be hits. When Prithviraj Sukumaran and Mohan Lal joined forces to create a sequel or prequel to "Lucifer" titled "L2 - Empuraan," fans everywhere were thrilled.
The shooting for "Empuraan" commenced in early October, and it's a joint production between Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Productions. This sequel to Mohanlal's blockbuster 'Lucifer' is set for a simultaneous release in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. Helmed by actor-producer Prithviraj Sukumaran, the first look of the sequel, "L2 - Empuraan," was unveiled as a special Diwali gift to fans of the franchise.
Prithviraj shared the first look poster on his Instagram, along with the caption: "3rd directorial. 2nd part of the franchise. 1st look. #L2E #Empuraan #Firstlook. Malayalam | Tamil | Telugu | Kannada | Hindi." The poster features Megastar Mohanlal with his back facing the camera, portraying his alter ego Khureshi Ab'raam, a crime syndicate lord. For those who haven't watched the prequel, "Lucifer," the film suggested in a brief scene that Stephen's character had a past as Khureshi Ab'raam. "L2 - Empuraan" promises to delve deeper into Khureshi's past.
Having entertained Malayalam cinema audiences for over two decades as an actor, Prithviraj ventured into directing with "Lucifer," which became one of Malayalam cinema's biggest hits of all time. It held this record until Tovino Thomas' 2023 film "2018: Everyone Is A Hero" took the title. Prithviraj will also appear on screen as his character Zayed Masood.
With backing from Subaskaran's Lyca Productions, "L2 - Empuraan" is expected to be a pan-Indian project. The film will also feature a star-studded cast, including Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Sachin Khedekar, Indrajith Sukumaran, Alexx O'Nell, and Fazil. The second schedule is likely to begin after the Diwali break, and there are rumors that the film aims for a mid-2024 release. Fans can't wait to see what this sequel has in store for them.
