Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao on Monday inaugurated Box Drain Nala. The Nalla forms part of the Strategic Nala Development Programme of the government. It stretches from Bandlaguda Cheruvu to Nagole Cheruvu in LB Nagar. "The remodelling of existing drains and construction of new ones will prevent inundation in flood-prone areas," the officials said.
The LB Nagar area is also in the news for another key reason. The government is developing a new phase of the Metro Rail project under which the LB Nagar Metro Station with be connected with the Nagole Metro Station. The same covers a distance of 26 km from BHEL to Lakdikapul.
The second phase will be completed after the next Assembly elections.
Under GHMC, 14 bridges are going to be developed in the locality. For the first time in India, a crematorium for domesticated animals has been set up at a cost of Rs 84 lakh. A swimming pool is also going to come up.
All the development works have been taken care of by the TRS government owing to the local MLA's requests, said KTR today.
