Kerala transgender couple claims to be ‘India’s First Pregnant Trans Man’!

Ziya and Zahad are a transgender couple from Kozhikode, Kerala. Ziya was born as a man and changed into a woman and Zahad was born a woman and transformed into a man. They have been living together for the last three years.

Now, the two are expecting their first child together and have announced the pregnancy through social media. The baby will be born in March. Notably, Zahad is said to be India’s first pregnant trans-man. According to the reports, Zahad conceived the baby during the transition from a woman to a man but the process was halted due to the pregnancy.

Zahad’s breasts were removed but the doctors had given a green signal for the pregnancy as the uterus was still there. The trans-couple has decided that the baby will be fed breast milk from the milk bank. Reportedly, Ziya and Zahad were planning to adopt a baby but the process was tough as they are transgenders.

Then, the two decided to conceive a child biologically after a team of doctors from the Kozhikode Medical College confirmed that there was no physical challenge in conceiving though both of them were in the process of gender transformation. They shared photos from their maternity photoshoot on Instagram and those images went viral. Internet users congratulated the couple and wished them luck for their future.
