KCR showers freebies ahead of GHMC polls

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday announced a slew of freebies ahead of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation polls. The TRS manifesto said that the government will implement the measures if the party is voted to power in the Corporation.
Houses that use less than 20,000 litres of water per month will not have to pay any charges from the month of December. The CM said that as much as 97% population use less than 20,000 litres in Hyderabad. This follows the Delhi model, which has helped the AAP a great deal.
Barbers, washermen and laundry shops will not have to pay electricity bills. Dhobi ghats and salons getting free electricity is expected to boost the TRS' prospects.
Besides, the film industry too has been given some relief measures two days after Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna, among others, called on the CM.
