Megastar Chiranjeevi, Dil Raju, D Suresh Babu, SS Rajamouli and others on Friday met with Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to request him for permissions to reopen the film industry gradually. They were there with the Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav.
KCR promised the bigwigs that the government is going to frame guidelines to ensure the calibrated reopening of the film industry as well as the TV and digital media. To begin with, activities (like post-production works) that involve a limited number of people are going to be permitted this month. Come May, shootings will be permitted. Separate safety guidelines will be put in place for film shoots on sets. Based on how it goes, the full-fledged reopening of production works will be thought over. The reopening of theatres will come much later, probably in August.
Coming out after the meet, Chiranjeevi thanked KCR for responding positively in favour of eking out suitable measures for the benefit of the entertainment industry. “I wholeheartedly thank Hon’ble CM KCR garu on behalf of the Film, TV and Digital Media industries for granting a patient hearing and his kind reassurance,” the actor tweeted.
