The recent incident of a seven year old girl raped and murdered in Coimbatore has sent shock waves across the state. The girl’s body was found after she went missing days before, and the autopsy reports revealed that she had been sexually assaulted before being killed, and this lead to protests across the state.
Actress Kasthuri, who has always voiced out for social issues with her views expressed on her social media handle, has expressed her views on this issue as well, as she posted a tweet. “Again?! Being eaten by despair, rage and shame. Who? Why?What makes any human rape and kill a child? It is booze? Is it mental illness? Is it a genetic problem?Failure of law enforcement?Or is it a systemic problem of Tamil society?” questioned the actress with her tweet.
Many other celebrities have also voiced out condemning and expressing shock over this brutal crime, as the police have filed a case including the POCSO act, and are on the lookout to find the criminals behind this act. Few men have been taken into custody in connection with the case for enquiry, and special teams have been formed to investigate.
