Director Karu Palaniappan, known for his movies like Parthiban Kanavu, Pirivom Santhippom etc had debuted as an actor in his directorial Manthira Punnagai and was recently seen playing a negative role as a cunning politician in the sports drama Natpe Thunai.

Next he will be seen as an actor in the upcoming movie Kallan, which is directed by debutant Chandra. The movie revolves around professional hunters who face trouble when government bans hunting and what happens when they plan a robbery which changes their lives. The movie is set in 1975 and 1988-89.

Kallan will have Karu Palaniappan playing a huntsman and the actor/ director has learnt Silambam and has been hitting gym regularly to tone his physique. The movie also features Namo Narayana and Soundararaja and K has scored music. Kallan was launched in 2017 itself but was impacted by demonetization and CG works and is ready to release now.
