Kartikeya Gummakonda, one of the talented young heroes in Tollywood, is all set to return to the big screen after a two-year gap. Known for his impressive physique and versatile performances, the actor has now announced an exciting new project titled ‘Comeback’, which also marks his debut as a director.

The project was officially announced today, September 21, coinciding with Kartikeya’s birthday. Along with the announcement, the makers unveiled a special glimpse that introduces the world of the film and gives audiences a peek at Kartikeya’s character.

Kartikeya shot to fame with his breakout performance in RX 100, earning widespread appreciation for his intense portrayal. He later showcased his versatility by playing a stylish antagonist in Nani’s Gang Leader and made his presence felt among Tamil audiences with his sincere performance in Ajith’s Valimai.

After spending more than two years away from lead roles, Kartikeya is making his comeback with a project that puts him in multiple creative roles. Apart from playing the lead, he is also directing the film for the first time. The movie is being produced under the Kartikeya Creative Works banner, with his wife Lohitha Reddy serving as the producer.

‘Comeback’ Glimpse Hints at a Boxer’s Story

The glimpse opens with a voice-over discussing a boxer who has been away from the sport for three years.

“It has been three years since we last heard his name in the boxing world,” the voice-over says, raising questions about what happened to him during this period and what he plans to do now.

The dialogue gradually builds curiosity around the protagonist before the visuals introduce Kartikeya. He is seen skipping and training in a boxing setup, strongly suggesting that he will be portraying a professional boxer in the film.

The glimpse also features title cards introducing the key technicians involved in the project before revealing the film’s title – ‘Comeback’.

Kartikeya appears in a highly fit and stylish avatar, perfectly complementing the physical demands of the role. The background score composed by Vijay Bulganin adds further intensity to the glimpse.

With Kartikeya taking charge as both the lead actor and director, ‘Comeback’ marks a significant new chapter in his career. The boxing backdrop, intense glimpse and his transformation have already created curiosity about what he has planned for his directorial debut.
