Director Karthick Naren had made his debut with the 2016 movie Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru / D16, which featured a relatively lesser known cast except for Rahman, and the movie which marked the debut of Yashika Anand, was an interesting crime thriller which was successful at the box office.
Following the success, Karthick Naren had directed Naragasooran, produced by Gautham Menon and Badri Kasthuri and the movie which features Arvind Swami, Sundeep Kishan, Shriya Saran, Aathmika and Indrajith Sukumaran has been completed and is waiting to find release for almost an year now.
Now director Karthick Naren has revealed that his initial plan was to set Naragasooran in the 80s period, and make the movie as a crossover film by using Deepak, the character played by Rahman in D16, as a young cop, but due to several reasons had to dismiss the idea and went on to cast Indrajith as police officer Laxman. The director also added that he will reveal more details on the crossover if the movie releases.
