Karthi says ‘Cheliya’ is not a modern love story

Story-teller par excellence Mani Ratnam is all set to capture the imagination of millions with 'Cheliya' ('Kaatru Veliyidai' in Tamil).  Karthi, who is playing a pilot in the movie, has talked about what to expect from the visual bonanza that hits the screens this summer.

According to Karthi, he plays a fighter jet pilot who falls in love with a doctor, played by Aditi Rao Hydari.  Though Mani Ratnam’s last film 'OK Kanmani’ was a modern love story, 'Cheliya' is a pure classical love story based on strong human relationships that will fit into any time in history.

Though the film is set in Kashmir, there is no element of terrorism or politics involved, the actor says.
