Whoa! MGR to be back in new movie with Karthi? – Powerful titles and other DEETS

Karthi is having a dream run for the past couple of years delivering one blockbuster after another namely ‘Sulthan’, ‘Viruman’, ‘Ponniyin Selvan’, ‘Sardar’ and ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’.  He has currently finished acting in Raju Murugan’s ‘Japan’ which is reportedly a  biography of notorious jewel theif who dies of AIDS.   The film is slated to release on Diwali will show another dimension of Karthi as an actor.

Meanwhile Karthi has already completed a small schedule for his next film directed by Nalan Kumaraswamy and will resume soon.  Produced by Studio Green Gnanavel Raja, the quirky film will have Santhosh Narayanan scoring the music and Keerthy Shetty is likely to be one of the leading ladies. 

It is now reported that Karthi will play the role of a hardcore MGR fan and that the late legendary superstar and former chief minister of Tamil Nadu will also be acting thanks to Computer Graphics.  The reports suggest that MGR will come to life and will only be seen and heard by Karthi and will not only influence his actions in the story but also provide fun to the audience.

True to the MGR legacy titles such as ‘Rathathin Rathame’ and ‘Va Vathiyare’ are being considered for the film. It is worth noting that Karthi has already played the role of a hardcore MGR fan in Selvaraghavan’s cult classic ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’.  More details of this super exciting project are awaited.
