A man, his wife, and their four children were found dead at their house in Karnataka’s Koppal this morning. The police, following a brief investigation, have reported that the family members allegedly committed suicide.
The victims have been identified as Shekhariah Beednal (42), Jayamma (39), Basamma (23), Gauramma (20), Savithri (18), and Parvathi (16). The police suspect that Beednal poisoned his wife and four children before hanging himself off a rope from a ceiling fan. Even though the reason behind the tragic event hasn’t been ascertained yet, the neighbours told the police that man might have taken the extreme step due to mounting bank loans following crop failure, according to local media reports.
The Karnataka police department has launched an investigation on the issue, and further details are expected to be disclosed shortly.
