Bollywood producer and Koffee with Karan host Karan Johar has finally reacted to all the criticism he received from fans of South Indian star Nayanthara after he made a distasteful remark involving her on his famous talk show.

For the uninitiated, Karan Johar had invited Samantha and Akshay Kumar on Koffee with Karan, where the former made a remark about Nayanthara being the biggest female actor in the South film industry. To this, Karan responded, “Not as far as my list.” This irked some of her fans, who brutally trolled him on social media.

Karan Johar clarified the statement in a recent interview. “I said, according to the list that I had from Ormax, Samantha was the no.1 star. Nayanthara’s fans have misconstrued the conversation, I think we all need to have a sense of humor. Mine is a fun show,” he said. Nayanthara and Samantha starred together in the 2022 romantic comedy Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, director by Vignesh Shivan.
