Allu Aravind today declared that he would be teaming up with ‘Kantara’ actor-director Rishab Shetty for a movie under his banner, Geetha Arts.
It is the Geetha Arts’ distribution wing that released the Telugu-dubbed version of ‘Kantara’ on October 15. The mystical action drama is doing great business in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. More details of the project are awaited.
For Shetty, an offer from Allu Aravind’s banner is a feather in his cap. Already, he has worked with Hombale Films, the reigning banner in Sandalwood. Association with the home banner of Allu Arjun is going to give him an edge. He will get to expand his market in Telugu on the back of the huge popularity enjoyed by ‘Kantara’.
Amid speculations that ‘Kantara 2’ will be made, Shetty clarified that there are no plans as yet.
As for Geetha Arts, it is co-producing a global film based on the Ramayana. When it hits the screens in 2025 or 2026, it will be the costliest Indian film.
