Actor Akshay Kumar revealed that he had rejected the role in ‘Kannappa’ twice. The film, directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, had its teaser launch event in Mumbai. Speaking about his role as Lord Shiva in the movie, Akshay Kumar said, “At first, I wasn’t sure. I turned down the role twice. But Vishnu’s strong belief that I was the right person to portray Shiva on the big screen in Indian cinema convinced me.
The story is powerful, deeply moving, and has been crafted into a visually outstanding production. I am proud to be part of this incredible journey,” he added.
Vishnu Manchu, who plays ‘Kannappa’, said, “This film is not just a project for me; it is a personal journey. Currently, I am visiting all Jyotirlingas across India. I feel a deep spiritual connection with Kannappa’s story, which is about unwavering faith and sacrifice.
Having Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal, and Prabhas join this project is a great honor for me. We believe that this divine story filled with devotion should reach people worldwide, transcending borders and touching hearts,” he stated.
The film ‘Kannappa’, directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, features Vishnu Manchu, Prabhas, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, Mohan Babu, and others. It is produced on a grand scale by Mohan Babu. The film’s teaser was released online on March 1, and the team has decided to release the movie worldwide on April 25.
