Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign has raised an impressive $200 million since she emerged as the Democratic presidential frontrunner last week, creating significant momentum against former President Donald Trump.
The campaign announced that 66% of these donations came from first-time contributors in the 2024 election cycle, following President Joe Biden’s withdrawal and endorsement of Harris. Over 170,000 volunteers have signed up to support her campaign through phone banking and canvassing, with Election Day just 100 days away.
Campaign Communications Director Michael Tyler emphasized the race’s competitiveness, stating, “The momentum and energy for Vice President Harris are real, but this election will be very close and decided by a small number of voters in just a few states.”
This weekend, the campaign hosted around 2,300 events in battleground states. Harris attended a fundraiser in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, which raised about $1.4 million, far exceeding expectations.
Mandy Robbins from Georgia expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “I finally feel hopeful now. We can win this with Harris.” Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear highlighted the impact of grassroots efforts, citing his narrow 2019 election victory.
Meanwhile, Trump and his running mate, Sen. JD Vance, have intensified their attacks, labeling Harris as a far-left politician. Despite the attacks, Harris’ campaign continues to gain traction as the election approaches.
