Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan, the president of Makkal Needhi Maiam took a dig at AIADMK minister Jayakumar, during his election campaign. For the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Makkal Needhi Maiam has not allied with any of the major parties of Tamil Nadu, but has joined hands with smaller ones.

Kamal Haasan has been hunting votes, campaigning for the candidates fielded in 38 constituencies, and yesterday he had been campaigning in Kasimedu for Mourya who's the party's candidate, and speaking during the campaign, Kamal said that Mourya was a police officer, who has come for serving people even at an age where he has to relax and take rest.

Kamal said that he has entered politics with an intention to clean the place and that he will do all that's required to achieve it. He went on to say "There are ministers who come while elections near, and they even lift your legs and help, but Mourya isn't like them. He'll be visiting his constituency regularly, and in case he fails to do his duty, he will be made to resign". Kamal had taken a dig at Minister Jayakumar, who had lifted a woman's legs, and tied his handkerchief after a speaker box fell on her legs, during his campaign for PMK candidate Chambal.
