It’s the return of the magical combo of ‘Nayakudu’ after 35 years. ‘Vikram’ actor Kamal Haasan and ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ director Mani Ratnam will be collaborating for the former’s 234th movie.
To be produced on a lavish scale by Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies and Red Giant Movies (the last of these banners is owned by Udhayanidhi Stalin), the film will have music by AR Rahman. “An absolute honour to present this film and tell this special story. Kamal sir and Mani sir have been the pride of Tamil cinema globally and I have been an ardent admirer of both these iconic personalities,” said Stalin.
The ‘Vishwaroopam’ star said that he is excited to collaborate with the director, while Mani said that he is happy, honoured and excited to collaborate with Kamal.
Plans are afoot to release it in the year 2024. In 2023, Kamal’s ‘Indian 2’ and Mani’s ‘PS-II’ will hit the screens.
Old-timers as well as fans of art are thrilled about the coming together of the Kamal-Mani duo. The untitled project will likely go on the floors in the second half of 2023.
