Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan and director Mani Ratnam are two legends of Tamil cinema. After the 1987 cult classic ‘Nayakan’, they are coming together for the actor’s 234th film. Their reunion after three decades created huge expectations among the audience. Now, it is official that ‘KH 234’ is titled ‘Thug Life’.
The makers unleashed a tremendous promo video to announce the title on the occasion of Ulaganayagan’s birthday (tomorrow). The look and feel of the 3-minute video is so unique and fresh. Kamal Haasan’s look, stunts and music follow a “Japanese” style and he even uses a Japanese word in his dialogue. Seems like, ‘Thug Life’ has a strong ‘Japan’ connection.
The video shows Kamal Haasan waiting for a battle in an open arena and five men are racing to take on him. Meanwhile, Ulaganayagan introduces himself to the audience as Ranga Raya Sakthivel Nayakan, who was labelled as a criminal and gangster by birth. After he thrashes the men who took on him, he asks the audience to remember his name.
The title video of Thug Life is brilliant and is now going viral. Trisha, Dulquer Salmaan and Jayam Ravi are playing important roles in the movie. AR Rahman’s background score and Ravi K Chandran’s visuals are very impressive while the stunts by the Anbariv duo are sure to steal the show. Sreekar Prasad will serve as the film’s editor. It is produced by Raaj Kamal Films, Madras Talkies and Red Giant Movies.
