The sixtieth year of Kamal Haasan in cinema was celebrated in a grand event at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai in the name of 'Ungal Naan' suggesting the legends transition to politics. Isaigniani Ilayaraja's live concert was the highlight while Superstar Rajinikanth was the chief guest and A.R.Rahman, Prabhu, Karthi, Vijay Sethupathi, Parthiban and others graced the occasion.

Speaking at 'Kamal 60' Vijay Sethupathi in his short and sweet style stated that he welcomes his senior's entry into politics. He added that he loved the very name of Kamal's party Makkal Neethi Maiam which he felt is inclusive of all people and emphasizes that everyone from varied backgrounds can be united. The Makkal Selvan pointed out that for six decades the Ulaganayagan never disappointed the audience in cinema and likewise will not in politics too.
