Lokesh Kanagaraj's 'Vikram' starring Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil has emerged as the biggest hit in Tamil cinema history. It is continuing to enjoy theatrical run inspite of streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar for the past one week.
Meanwhile Arjun Das who played the villain in Lokesh Kanagaraj's 'Kaithi' has signed on to play the lead role in a new movie directed by Bejoy Nambiar of 'David' and 'Solo' fame. Kalidas Jayaram who played a key role in Lokesh's 'Vikram' as Kamal's son is also on board. Interestingly unconfirmed sources suggest that Kalidas is playing the chief antagonist in the untitled film that has T.J. Bhanu ('Vaazhl') as the female lead.
Bollywood media has reported that the film is set in a college and tackles an important issue that the youth face. According to those reports Arjun Das and Kalidas Jayaram are both playing positive roles. We will have to wait for more time to know what exactly is the character shade of the two young actors.
Bejoy Nambiar is shooting the new film as a bilingual in Hindi too which has Harshvardhan Rane and Ehan Bhat with T.J. Bhanu retained as the heroine. Plans are on to release the film by the year end by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series which is bankrolling.
