After the critically acclaimed hit film Adhey Kangal`, young actor Kalaiyarasan`s next release will be Yeidhavan` directed by debutant Sakthi Rajasekaran. The film produced by S.Sudhakaran of Friends Festival Films banner deals with a serious problem affecting the Education standard in the state. The film stars Satna Titus, who debuted last year with the blockbuster Pichaikkaran`, as the female lead.

The film has been acquired and it will be released by Sakthivelan and Abhinesh Elangovan under the Sakthi Film Factory banner.

Addressing the media and press persons, Sakthivelan said “This is the first film I got involved into. I wanted to asoiate with the film ever since I watched the double positive. Screenplay will be the biggest plus for Yeidhavan`. Producer Sudhakaran intends to make at least ten films all with new directors. He has already started work on two more after Yeidhavan`."

Apart from late lyricist Na.Muthukumar, a new lyricist Gaana Vinod is getting introduced with this film. He has written a gaana song that has a lot of unknown words in the Chennai dialect.

Rocky Prabhakar, a former associate of Peter Hein has designed the Stunt sequences of the film. Paartav Barggo is the music director. I.J.Allen is the Editor. Sathish Soundar has written the dialogues and also worked as the Co-director of the film.

Prem Kumar of Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kanom` fame is the cinematographer of the film. He said that he director Sakthi was his friend for more than 10 years and he did not believe he could make such a good film before reading the film`s script. It is to be noted that after working in this film Prem himself has become a director of the film 96` starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha.

Yeidhavan` is a character driven film and it has 15 important characters and how they come out of the problems they face. Rajkumar o NKPK` fame, Aadukalam Narein, Valavan, Vinoth, Sowmya and Radha have played supporting roles. Gowtham and debutant Krishna have played the lead villains. Krishna is a former RJ and a dubbing artist.

Vela Ramamoorthy who has been gaining prominence as a supporting and villain actor in the recent years has played Kalaiyarasan`s affectionate father in the film. Speaking to the press he recounted that his friendship with the director Sakthi and Kalai started when they shot for the film Madhayanai Koottam` directed by Vikram Sukumaran. Sakthi had worked as an associate director in that film. The veteran who is also a popular Tamil writer, also noted that while he has come as a person from Southern districts of Tamil Nadu in the films he has acted so far, in Yeidhavan` he has played a person from Arani which is in North side of Tamil Nadu and he will be speaking in the local dialect in the film.

Abhinesh Elangovan liked the film after he watched it. “After D16` I was impressed with this film, mainly its script. So I decided to associate myself with the project. “

Director Sakthi said the entire team was like friends to him. “I spent eight months to write the script. That has resulted in people saying that screenplay is the biggest plus of the film. I wanted to deal with an issue that will connect with everyone and that`s why I took up Education. When we researched about the subject we got material to make a series of films. I added commercial elements instead of making it as a raw film. The three songs you watched are the commercial compromises. I have felt that films like Onaayum Attukuttiyum` would have done better if they had songs. Such things are essential. The film was ready for release in January itself. But Sakthivelan sir insisted on releasing it during the summer holiday season as many students would have completed their board exams and the film will have an impact on them at this time. “

Actor Kalaiyarasan said "Yeidhavan will be a very important film in my career. Please support the film and watch it theaters. I am confident that the film will be a hit. "

When a question was raised about the absence of the heroine Satna Titus in the promotional event, the makers said that she could not take part because she has got married in February.

Yeidhavan` will be hitting the screens on May 5, 2017.
