Former Tamil Nadu chief minister Kaligniar Karunanidhi was hospitalised last week at the Kaveri Hospital in Chennai for a routine checkup and also for changing his tracheostomy tube which needs a change every six months. Though the political stalwart was discharged the same day rumors started doing the rounds that he is in a bad shape.
The DMK executive head M.K. Stalin has clarified that his father did have some fever due to the hospital procedures but beyond that there is nothing serious. The news has come as a great relief for the party cadres who were anxious about the health of their septuagenarian leader who has led them for the past several decades.
