Actress Tanisha Mukerji, sister of Bollywood actress Kajol, claimed that she was verbally harassed by a man she met at a hotel in New York, US. He allegedly made a couple of racist remarks as well, mocking her language.
The actress, who was in New York to attend the CRY America charity gala, stopped at a restaurant post the event where she faced the alleged harassment. “I don’t understand what triggered it as I was polite, but he turned rude. One of the employees, an African-American, said that we looked as if we were fresh off the boat and couldn’t speak English. That was insulting and blatantly racist. My friends and I were shocked. It’s traumatic to experience this kind of racism in the US; I have never faced it earlier,” Tanisha explained.
Tanisha was last seen in the 2007 Tamil romantic musical film ‘Unnale Unnale.’ She participated in Salman Khan’s reality show Bigg Boss 7 in 2013 and ended up as the first runner-up.
