Hailey Bieber Opens Up About Hiding Pregnancy: ‘It Didn’t Feel Good”‘

For six months, Hailey Bieber was able to keep her pregnancy a secret, which was hard for her emotionally. Opening about this in W Magazine’s Special Edition Summer Issue, the model and Rhode founder—who is expecting her first child with Justin Bieber—shared.

“I probably could have hidden it until the end,” 27-year-old Hailey said. She did concede, though, that the burden of not being able to freely savor her pregnancy was difficult. “It didn’t feel good; I felt as though I was hiding a major secret. I wanted the freedom to walk outside and live my life.

Hailey said she “stayed small for a long time,” so she could keep her pregnancy under wraps for so long. She announced the news six months pregnant, when she clearly started to have a belly. “I could dress in large coats and stuff,” she said.

Hailey’s agent said she was just over six months pregnant when the pair posted their baby announcement on Instagram in May. Hailey wore a long, lacy white dress and a veil in a video they uploaded from her vow renewal, drawing attention to her developing bump. Pictures also showed Justin behind her, his arms around her belly, highlighting their matching wedding bands.

Two months following their engagement, Hailey and Justin married in September 2018 in a New York City courthouse. They later commemorated it with a bigger event in Bluffton, South Carolina.

Hailey said  she cherishes her independence and has started her own family, so she is now “not super close with my family.” When she thought back on her pregnancy, she said it was a “super emotional” period for her to try to savor the days spent solely with Justin.
