John Abraham to play patriotic footballer in period film

Bollywood actor John Abraham will be seen as a football player in ‘1911’, a period drama to be directed by Nikkhil Advani. It’s based on a true story that happened in Calcutta during the British era.  

As per a report, John will be seen as Shibdas Bhaduri in this patriotic sports drama. Bhaduri spiritedly won for his team the 1911 IFA Shield Final against the East Yorkshire Regiment.  

Speaking to a news agency, this is what John has said.  “What makes ‘1911’ special is that it is not just about the coach, the players or even the game, it’s also about India’s freedom struggle. Like with ‘Parmanu’, the idea is to educate in an entertaining way,” John commented.  

It will be co-produced by John.  Nikkhil Advani has previously made films like ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ and ‘Hero’.
