Inspiration behind Karthi’s next revealed!

Actor Karthi has given his first 100 crores grosser movie this Diwali, with Kaithi directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Dream Warrior Pictures. Released on October 25 in Tamil and Telugu, the movie had him playing a former prisoner Dilli and will also have a sequel made.

Karthi will be seen next in the movie Thambi, where he will be acting for the first time with his sister in law Jyothika, and they play siblings in the movie, while Sathyaraj and Seetha play their parents. The movie is produced by Viacom 18 and Jyothika’s brother Suraj Sadanah.

It has been revealed by director Jeethu Joseph that this movie was initially planned inspired by a documentary and later he had observed that Bollywood director Rensil De Silva had written a story on the similar concept, which has been the inspiration for Thambi. Also starring Nikhila Vimal and Ammu Abhirami, Thambi releases in December.
