Yesterday marked the 16th anniversary of release of actor Jayam Ravi's debut movie as a hero, Jayam directed by his brother Mohan Raja and produced by his father Editor Mohan. The film, also starring Sadha and Gopichand was the official remake of the 2002 Telugu movie of the same name, and was a superhit in Tamil.

Following the success of Jayam, the actor's career took off with continuous hits and established him as a star in the industry. As the 16th anniversary of the movie came yesterday, Jayam Ravi had been flooded with wishes on completing 16 years in the industry and the actor also began his next movie on the occasion.

Jayam Ravi's milestone 25th movie JR25 directed by Lakshman and produced by Home Movie Makers was also launched yesterday officially, and a happy and emotional Jayam Ravi tweeted "Started #JR25 with everyone’s blessings and good wishes Thank you to my fans and well wishers for making my 16 years journey so memorable Deeply humbled and filled with gratitude".
