‘Jai Hanuman’ Launched Grandly in Hampi; Prasanth Varma Returns to His Blockbuster Universe

After announcing an ambitious slate of films under his proposed cinematic universe, Prasanth Varma has now returned to the world that brought him nationwide acclaim. Two years after the massive success of Hanu-Man, the filmmaker has officially launched its sequel, Jai Hanuman.

The film is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers and presented by T-Series. In a significant casting development, Rishab Shetty—widely known for Kantara—will headline the project, portraying Lord Hanuman. His involvement has instantly amplified anticipation around the sequel.

“Jai Hanuman” was formally launched with a traditional muhurtham ceremony at Anjanadri Betta in Hampi, Vijayanagara—widely regarded as the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. The launch event drew several notable industry figures. Bhushan Kumar sounded the clapboard for the inaugural shot, while Anil Thadani switched on the camera. Actor Teja Sajja, who played the lead in Hanu-Man, directed the first ceremonial shot.

Conceived as a large-scale action spectacle set in Kaliyuga, the film aims to blend devotion, valor, and righteousness with contemporary cinematic technology. The makers are positioning it as a grand expansion of the mythological superhero universe introduced in Hanu-Man.

On the technical front, the project boasts a formidable team. Oscar-winning composer M. M. Keeravani will score the music, while cinematographer S. Thirunavukkarasu will oversee the visual treatment. Production designer Srinagendra Thangala is set to craft the film’s grand aesthetic canvas.

With a spiritually symbolic launch and a powerful creative lineup, Jai Hanuman signals Prasanth Varma’s renewed focus on expanding the mythological universe that redefined his career trajectory.
