Suriya has been hitting the headlines regularly ever since his strong voice for the downtrodden started resonating throughout the country through his latest film ‘Jai Bhim’. The T.J. Gnanavel directed film has soared to unprecedented heights in world cinema by topping the IMDB charts.
On the other hand ‘Jai Bhim’ has also raised controversies with a few political parties and outfits accusing Suriya and the team of hurting sentiments of a certain community. Social media showed a majority support to Suriya by trending the hashtag #WeStandWithSuriya worldwide. The film fraternity wa a little slow to react but woke up and a few have expressed their support including Bharathiraja, Vetrimaaran, Pa.Ranjith, Karunaas, Nassar, Sarathkumar and Siddharth.
Suriya has opened up on Twitter with the emotional note “Dear all, this love for #Jaibhim is overwhelming. I’ve never witnessed this before! Can’t express in words how thankful I am for the trust & reassurance you all have given us. Heartfelt thanks for standing by us.”
