Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has on Friday launched one lakh COVID-19 rapid test kits. Each kit can deliver a coronavirus test within 10 minutes. These kits were imported from South Korea.

Testing will be ramped up in the State with this enhanced infrastructure available.

The number of confirmed cases has been on the rise in the State. As of Friday morning, the number stands at 572, with Kurnool and Guntur districts, between them, having about 40 percent of the total. Each of these two districts has got 126 cases each. Containment clusters have been enforced religiously here, besides in Nellore, Krishna and Prakasam, among others.

Of the 572, 523 are active cases. 35 patients have been discharged, while 14 have died so far in the State.
