‘Jagamae Sangeetham’ Set for Worldwide Premiere on Prime Video

Prime Video has announced the worldwide premiere date of its upcoming Telugu Original series ‘Jagamae Sangeetham’. Created and directed by Palnati Surya Pratap and produced by Sushmita Konidela, the musical drama is set to premiere on September 4.

Inspired by Prime Video’s Hindi Original series Bandish Bandits, the series brings together a compelling story of music, family, tradition, legacy, and self-discovery. Written by Vangala Surya Manoj, Shravani Samudrala, and A.R. Prabhav, the series features music by Vishal Chandrasekar.

His soulful compositions form a key part of the narrative, blending the rich traditions of Carnatic music with a contemporary sound and adding emotional depth to the story.

Prakash Raj, Srikanth Lead the Cast

‘Jagamae Sangeetham’ features an ensemble cast led by Prakash Raj, Meka Srikanth, Madhubala, Akshay Lagusani, and Sushmita Shetty.

The series also stars Suman, Sijju Menon, Shafi, Jhansi, Raghu Babu Yerra, Rocket Raghava, Nagi Jabardasth, Mirchi Kiran, Keshav Deepak, Priyanka Nalkari, Manik Reddy, Prachi Thaker, and Roopa Lakshmi in pivotal roles.

A Story of Music, Family and Legacy

Set against the backdrop of Carnatic music, the series follows Balu, the heir to his grandfather Shastri’s legendary musical legacy. However, Balu finds himself caught between the weight of tradition, fractured family relationships, and long-buried secrets.

When old rivalries resurface and threaten to disrupt generations of family heritage, Balu is forced to make a difficult choice between preserving the legacy built by his family and discovering his own voice as an artist.

Music forms the heart of the narrative. While Shastri remains deeply devoted to the Carnatic tradition, Balu gradually discovers a world of music beyond its traditional boundaries.

In the series, music becomes the family’s second language, expressing emotions such as love, resentment, devotion, longing, pride, and hope that the characters struggle to communicate through words.

Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of SVOD Originals, Prime Video India, said that Jagamae Sangeetham is a deeply moving story that explores the emotional power of music while addressing universal themes of family, legacy, and self-discovery.

He added that the series raises questions about tradition, ambition, and the courage required to choose one’s own path. Madhok also praised Palnati Surya Pratap’s creative vision, Sushmita Konidela’s production, and Vishal Chandrasekar’s music for creating a series that is culturally rooted yet universally relatable.

Producer Sushmita Konidela said that the team’s vision was to create a story where music is more than just an element of the setting and instead becomes the emotional language through which a family communicates feelings that are difficult to express.

She noted that the series explores emotions such as love, conflict, longing, pride, hope, and healing. While deeply rooted in the world of Carnatic music, the themes of legacy, belonging, and finding one’s own identity are universal, she added.

‘Jagamae Sangeetham’ will premiere worldwide on Prime Video on September 4. The series will stream in Telugu with English subtitles and will also be available in Tamil dubbed version.

The series will be available across India and more than 240 countries and territories worldwide, bringing its blend of Carnatic music, family drama, tradition, and contemporary storytelling to audiences globally.
