“I’ve Never Done This Much Action Before”: Rashmika on Her Intense Mysaa Journey

National Crush Rashmika Mandanna is set to explore one of the most challenging roles of her career with the Pan-India action drama Mysaa. The actress plays a Gond tribal woman in the film and has undergone extensive physical preparation to bring the demanding character to life.

Directed by debutant Rawindra Pulle and produced by Unformula Films, Mysaa has already generated curiosity with its first glimpse. The makers have now unveiled the much-awaited teaser, offering a glimpse into Rashmika’s intense character and the film’s raw action world.

The teaser opens with Rashmika’s powerful dialogue, “I am tired… I have stopped… I have lost,” immediately establishing the emotional intensity of her character. She is portrayed as a fearless woman who refuses to surrender, taking on every challenge that comes her way like a lone warrior.

Rashmika’s transformation into a Gond tribal woman is one of the major highlights of the teaser. From riding a bike with fierce determination to performing challenging underwater sequences, the actress appears to have pushed herself to the limit for the role. Rashmika: “I Gave My Life for Mysaa”

Speaking at the teaser launch event, Rashmika said that Mysaa represents completely new territory for her as an actor.

The actress explained that she had primarily explored emotions through her performances so far, but had never attempted action on this scale. She revealed that the first time she performed action sequences, she experienced a sense of nervousness.

Talking about her commitment to the film, Rashmika said, “For The Girlfriend, I gave everything emotionally to that film. For Mysaa, I gave my life.”

She revealed that director Rawindra Pulle made her perform several risky stunts. The film was shot in dense forests and hilly regions of Kerala, where she had to actually run up hills and perform demanding sequences near waterfalls.

The actress also revealed that she spent around eight hours in the water for the underwater sequences. A physically demanding action sequence involving mud and slush was also performed for real.

Rashmika further revealed that she suffered a hip injury while performing a dance sequence for the film. Recalling her experience, she said the doctor even remarked that her scan looked like the injury of a football player.

Despite the challenges, Rashmika said she wanted to support the director’s vision and give her best to the character.

Rawindra Pulle: “I Decided on Rashmika While Writing the Story”

Director Rawindra Pulle revealed that Rashmika was always his first choice for the role.

He said that while writing the story itself, he had decided that Rashmika should play the protagonist. Having previously worked with her on Sita Ramam, the director said he had already imagined her as the heroine of his new project.

Rawindra added that audiences have so far seen Rashmika primarily in cute and sweet roles, but Mysaa will present her in a completely different and intense avatar.

The teaser certainly reflects that vision, with Rashmika appearing rugged, aggressive and physically formidable.

Challenging Shoot in Dense Forests

Producer Ajay praised Rashmika’s dedication to the project, stating that she put tremendous effort into the film and even took risks while performing several action sequences.

The team shot extensively in dense forest locations in Kerala, including during peak summer. According to the producer, Rashmika participated in action sequences from 9 AM to 6 PM, despite the physically demanding conditions.

He also revealed that several injuries occurred during the challenging shoot. The demanding production conditions, combined with the scale of the action sequences, made the filming process particularly difficult.

Powerful Technical Team

Cinematographer Shreyaas P Krishna has translated Rawindra Pulle’s ambitious vision into striking visuals. The underwater sequences and rugged forest landscapes give the teaser a distinctive visual identity.

Jakes Bejoy’s intense background score adds further weight to the film’s dark and action-driven world, while international action choreographer Kecha has designed sharp and raw combat sequences.

The production values also add to the scale of the project, making Mysaa look like a technically ambitious Pan-India action drama.
