Allu Arjun’s ‘Raaka’ Enters Guinness World Records With 37-Person Motion-Capture Feat

Icon Star Allu Arjun’s upcoming film Raaka has achieved a major global milestone even before its release. The ambitious magnum opus, directed by V. Arunkumar (Atlee) and produced by Sun Pictures’ Kalanithi Maran, has officially entered the Guinness World Records for the “Most People Motion-Captured in Real-Time.”

The record was achieved in February 2026, with 37 performers being captured simultaneously in real time during a single motion-capture session. Guinness World Records officially certified the achievement on September 15, 2026.

The official certificate was presented to Allu Arjun and director V. Arunkumar by Guinness World Records Senior Adjudicator Swapnil Dangrikar at a special ceremony attended by members of the film’s cast and crew.

Raaka’s Record-Breaking Motion-Capture Feat

The Guinness World Records attempt involved an extraordinary group of 37 performers, ranging from a four-year-old child to a 70-year-old performer.

All 37 performers were captured simultaneously within a single motion-capture volume. The biggest challenge was to accurately record and preserve the individual movements and performances of every participant at the same time.

The scale of the exercise required an advanced technical setup and extensive coordination between performers, motion-capture specialists, VFX teams and technology experts.

92 Cameras Used for the Guinness Record

To execute the record-breaking sequence, the VFX Producer of Raaka developed a new motion-capture pipeline and workflow specifically for the film’s technical requirements.

As many as 92 optical motion-capture cameras were deployed for the Guinness World Records attempt. The sophisticated setup brought together capture and calibration systems along with networking, synchronisation, real-time Unreal visualisation, witness cameras and facial-capture technology.

Multiple specialist teams worked simultaneously to ensure that the entire performance could be recorded accurately in real time.

The achievement represents the combined efforts of Sun Pictures, director V. Arunkumar, Allu Arjun, Apple Art Studio, the film’s VFX team and several technology specialists.
