Jasprit Bumrah to get married; Skips fourth Test – Details

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has opted out of the upcoming fourth Test match against England to prepare for his wedding, as per reports. A BCCI source confirmed the same to a news agency.

Bumrah had played two Test matches against England in the ongoing four-match series, where he picked up four wickets. “He informed the BCCI that he is getting married and has taken the leave to help in preparations for the big day,” the source was quoted as saying by a news agency. The BCCI had earlier mentioned that Bumrah will be taking leave from the match due to personal reasons. “Jasprit Bumrah made a request to BCCI to be released from India’s squad ahead of the fourth Test owing to personal reasons. Accordingly, the fast bowler has been released and he will not be available for selection for the fourth Test,” the BCCI said. The pacer is yet to make an official statement regarding his wedding and an update on the same is expected soon.

Bumrah has been rested for the upcoming five-match T20I series against England as well, as part of his workload management. The matches are scheduled to be held on March 12,14,16,18 and 20 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
