'Rangeela Raja', an upcoming Hindi movie, stars the versatile comedy actor Govinda in the lead. He is playing more than one role with different shades in this commercial entertainer. While there are hints that the film has got doubles entendres, its producer is unhappy that the CBFC has suggested 20 cuts ahead of its release on November 16.
As per the movie's producer, Pahlaj Nihalani, the Bombay High Court is looking into the cuts imposed by the CBFC. If 'Manmarziyaan' that had love-making scenes was given a clean chit, why not 'Rangeela Raja'? This is the argument that the producer is making. He claims that the film is devoid of vulgarity and obscenity.
The producer also alleges that the CBFC chief, Prasoon Joshi, is partial towards Aamir Khan. "My film was reviewed 40 days after applying. I was going to release my film on Nov 8. 'Thugs Of Hindostan' had applied 20 days after me. Prasoon Joshi and Aamir Khan are good friends, so they were given preference. The cuts suggested for my film violate CBFC guidelines," Pahlaj Nihalani says.
