Sankalp of 'The Ghazi Attack' fame is back with a Hindi film titled 'IB 71'. A story inspired by true incidents, it tells the tale of how 30 brave agents achieved an incredible feat vis-a-vis Pakistan within 10 days back in 1971. A secret mission that not many Indians have heard of is what the film is about. "Witness this incredible true story that made us win the 1971 Indo-Pak war," the makers said on Monday, unveiling the trailer.
Touted to be a patriotic spy thriller (the adjective 'patriotic' goes missing in the case of films like 'Agent'), the film traces the adventures of the Intelligence Bureau agent Dev Jammwal (Vidyut Jammwal).
The Bollywood actor is also making a debut as a producer on Action Hero Films. He is joined by 'Adipurush' makers T- series as well as Reliance Entertainment.
With Anupam Kher in a pivotal role, the film's cinematography is by Gnana Shekar VS. With BGM by Prashanth R Vihari of 'Antariksham' fame, its production design is by Sriram Kannan Iyengar and Sujeet Subhash Sawant. K Ravi Verma, Lee Whittaker, and Yannick Michel Ben have choreographed the stunts. The story has been penned by Aditya Shastri, while the screenplay is written by multiple writers (Storyhouse Films LLP, Sankalp, Arjun Varma, Vasudeva Reddy E, Arun Bhimavarapu, Gargee Singh, Abhimanyu Srivastava).
The film will hit the screens on May 12.
