Following the unfortunate accident of a 30-year-old woman in Coimbatore, who was hit by a lorry when she tried to move away from a falling AIADMK flagpole, Tamil Nadu CM Edappadi K Palaniswamy has mentioned in a statement that High Court ban was against banners and not flagpoles.
"The incident hasn't come to my knowledge yet. High Court ban was against the banners, not the flagpoles," CM EPS reportedly informed a news agency. Coincidentally, the accident has happened the same day the court has granted bail to an AIADMK politician whose banner was responsible for the death of 23-year-old Chennai techie Subhasri.
30-year-old Anuradha Rajeswari came under the wheels of a lorry earlier this morning while trying to avoid a falling flagpole set up by the AIADMK on a highway. She has suffered fractures on both her legs after the vehicle's front wheel rammed over them, and is currently admitted to the ICU of a local private hospital. An FIR has been registered against the lorry driver under relevant sections of the IPC.
