A Chinese multinational conglomerate holding company named Tencent has created much flutter with a news report. As per it, as many as 25,000 people have died of Coronavirus in China. Official figures have put the number at just 500.

As per some speculations, Tencent might have revealed the "real data" accidentally due to a bug or deliberately. The company has withdrawn the report, probably because of official backlash.

Since the media is largely suppressed in China, real figures may not be coming out. Official data is not always honest in that country. Fudged data has come out from China many times in the past.

What is shocking is that Tencent has claimed that China has about 154,023 confirmed cases of Coronavirus. Also, there are suspected cases of as many as 79,808.

Earlier today, US President Donald Trump lauded the efforts of the Chinese administration to control the epidemic. "Just had a long and very good conversation by phone with President Xi of China. He is strong, sharp and powerfully focused on leading the counterattack on the Coronavirus. He feels they are doing very well, even building hospitals in a matter of only days. Nothing is easy, but he will be successful, especially as the weather starts to warm & the virus hopefully becomes weaker, and then gone. Great discipline is taking place in China, as President Xi strongly leads what will be a very successful operation. We are working closely with China to help!"
