Congress president Rahul Gandhi has termed the results of the recent Assembly polls in Gujarat, the home-State of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as a ‘moral victory’ for the Congress and a ‘big jolt’ to the BJP and the prime-minister.
Taking on the prime-minister for stating that poll victories in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh were indication of people’s support to the BJP-led Centre’s initiatives (such as GST, demonetization, etc.), Rahul reacted for the first time after the Congress’ poll debacle in the two States to tell the Prime Minister that anger wont’ work and only ‘love’ would work.
“Modi Ji speaks now about GST, its effects and demonetization but convenient kept mum about all these during his various speeches during the campaign prior to the Assembly polls,” Rahul said and added that this indicated that Modi has a ‘huge credibility problem.
“BJP may have won the polls but it is apparent that people have rejected its ‘development’ agenda,” Rahul said.
