Director of Public Health Dr G Srinivasa Rao on Wednesday reportedly spoke of a possible second wave in Hyderabad due to the recent Hyderabad civic polls. Since a lot of political rallies were held, which were attended by large crowds, a spike in cases is expected.
Those who have attended the rallies have been urged to quarantine themselves and get themselves tested if they are showing any covid symptoms.
Officials are putting in place all arrangements to ensure that aggressive testing goes on uninterrupted for the next few weeks. Till mid-January next year, the healthcare machinery will be alert.
Other experiences:
The recent Bihar elections saw a large number of rallies. In November last week, national reports said that the State didn’t seek a surge in cases despite scores of rallies junking covid guidelines over a period of more than a month.
