‘Geetha Govindam’ beats ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’

‘Geetha Govindam’, which was recently aired on TV on a Sunday, has taken everyone by a surprise by fetching 20.8 TRP’s.  Among all the Telugu films of the year, the Vijay Deverakonda starrer is at pole position, beating even ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’.

This year, in fact, has thrown up encouraging stories on TV.  The aforementioned Mahesh Babu movie was trumped by Keerthy Suresh’s ‘Mahanati’ (20.16).  Even ‘Rangasthalam’ (19.5) was defeated by ‘Mahanati’ and ‘GG’.

The popularity of films like ‘GG’, ‘Mahanati’ and ‘Rangasthalam’ is understandable, given their genre.  Families have been attracted to them.
