Isaigniani Ilayaraja`s sudden legal notices to SPB, Chithra and Mano has received a lot of flak in the industry even though he is only trying to enforce an existing law. The latest to go all guns blazing against the maestro is none other than his brother Gangai Amaran.

Gangai Amaran has said that Raja`s songs are like an incessant shower of music and people like to be drenched in it all the time and he cannot claim royalty to the people who hum him. He has questioned Ilayaraja if he had paid royalties to the Thiagaraja hymns that he had sung. Gangai Amaran has also pointed out that the legend MSV and his contemporaries never exercised the copyright law for their songs. He signed off by musing what Ilayaraja is going to do with the money, whether he is going to do something for the people, his children or siblings.
