G.V. Prakash has announced that Yuvan Shankar Raja has sung a song in Parasakthi, his 100th film as a music composer.

The upcoming film Parasakthi, marking the 100th musical composition of young Tamil cinema music artist G.V. Prakash Kumar, has now become even more special. As announced on social media yesterday , the music legend Yuvan Shankar Raja has sung a song for this film!

Directed by Sudha Kongara and starring Sivakarthikeyan, the film is shaping up as a historical drama centered on the climate protests in 1960s Madras (present-day Chennai). Sivakarthikeyan plays a brave college student leader. This marks Sivakarthikeyan’s 25th film and G.V. Prakash’s centennial musical journey.

On his X (formerly Twitter) page, G.V. Prakash posted: “The legendary @thisisysr bro sings for #Parasakthi … here we gooooo. #GV100 becomes more special,” along with a photo from Yuvan’s song recording session. This special collaboration comes after the success of the film Hero between Yuvan and Sivakarthikeyan.

The film’s first song, Adi Alaye, has already been released and received a warm welcome from fans. Shot by Ravi K. Chandran and produced by Dawn Pictures, the film is gearing up for a Pongal 2026 release. With Yuvan’s voice joining in, G.V. Prakash’s music album is expected to reach even greater heights.
