Fraudster cheats CM's daughter through a QR code on OLX

Online fraudsters have duped a number of folks but in a bizarre instance, the daughter of a well-known Chief Minister has got defrauded on OLX. The incident happened the other day in Delhi. And the victim is Harshita Kejriwal, the daughter of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
As per reports, Harshita had put on sale a used sofa on OLX. A purchaser contacted her and bargained the price. He asked her to scan her QR code so he can do the transfer. When she did, the cheater managed to debit Rs 34,000 in two installments from Harshita's account.
A case has been filed against the unknown offender at a police station near the CM's residence.
The incident goes to show that QR code is to be guarded against untrustworthy users. It's also a wake-up call that platforms like OLX may well be misused by fraudulent elements.
