Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is no more. He died on Thursday and the news has shocked the country. 92-year-old Manmohan Singh had been suffering from ill health for the past few days. As his health deteriorated, he was rushed to AIIMS hospital in Delhi on Thursday evening.
Dr. Manmohan Singh is one of India's most respected leaders. He started his career as an economist and played a key role in transforming the country's economic strategy through economic reforms in 1991 and integrating the country into the global market. He served as the Prime Minister of India for two terms, from 2004 to 2014.
Manmohan Singh was born on September 26, 1932, in the village of Gah in Punjab (now Pakistan). After holding international responsibilities such as IMF and Reserve Bank Governor, he served as the Union Finance Minister and Prime Minister.
