After delivering ‘Orey Bujjiga’, the OTT hit, last year, ‘Power Play’ actor Raj Tarun is going to be seen in the promising ‘Stand Up Rahul’, which is directed by newcomer Santo Mohan Veeranki. Releasing its First Look on Wednesday, the makers said that the film is a coming-of-age feel-good romantic-comedy wherein the lead man plays the role of a stand-up comic.
Nandkumar Abbineni and Bharath Maguluri are jointly bankrolling the film on Dream Town Productions and HighFive Pictures. In keeping with the spirit of the film, Raj Tarun has got a stylish makeover for himself. For the first time, he is going to be seen in a clean-shaven look. His hair-style, too, will be stylish in the film.
What is the premise of the film about? “Our film tells the story of a reluctant stand-up comic who doesn’t stand up for anything in life. He finally finds true love, and learns to stand up for his parents, for his love and for his passion for stand-up comedy,” the director says.
Starring Varsha Bollamma of ‘Middle Class Melodies’ fame as the heroine, this one has music by Sweekar Agasthi. Sreeraj Raveendran is its cinematographer. Art Direction is by Uday. Editing is by Raviteja Girijella.
The much-happening comedian Vennela Kishore has a key role. Murali Sharma, Indraja, Devi Prasad and Madhurima are part of the cast.
