FIR against Azharuddin for ‘cheating’ a travel agent

Former Indian cricket player Mohammad Azharuddin is facing an FIR for allegedly duping a travel agent in Aurangabad, Maharashtra.  The travel agent in his FIR has claimed that Azhar and two others defrauded him of Rs 20.96 lakh in November last.

The police are investigating the matter.  Only an immediate payment in the court will absolve the trio from an imminent arrest, the police have been quoted as saying.

On his part, Azharuddin has strongly rubbished the “false” FIR.  “I am consulting my legal team and would be taking action as necessary,” he said today.
