South India’s famous actor-director reveals turning down an offer to direct Superstar Rajinikanth!

It is not every day that one can land a chance to direct Superstar Rajinikanth. But a famous actor turned director has revealed in a recent interview that he eschewed when he got a chance to be the director of Superstar Rajinikanth’s next film. 

Prithiviraj Sukumaran is a famous actor and director in the southern film industry. He is currently busy in the promotional campaign for his upcoming Malayalam film ‘Kaduva’, which is releasing on July 7. The talented artist took part in an interaction with a Tamil entertainment portal during the promotions. 

Prithviraj revealed that he got an offer to direct Superstar Rajinikanth following the success of ‘Lucifer’ but he couldn’t do it. He said, “Biggest opportunity came out when Rajini sir reached out to do a film. To be honest, I was scared. Because I knew the responsibility is huge. Not the responsibility to the audience but the responsibility to myself actually. Because I am such a huge fan of Thalaivar. It would be a crushing experience for me if the film I make disappoints the fan in me.” 

“So, more than anything I should find something that excites the fan in me before I say to him that I have a script that I can tell you. So at that time, I said that I will never forget that this opportunity came my way but one day when I have something that I know confidently… I can ask for Rajini sir’s time to narrate the story. When I have the confidence in my subject, I will go and seize the chance,” added Prithviraj.
